In 2017, the number of devices installed with ECHONET Lite topped 53.7 million units (including housing devices, energy creation/accumulation devices, and IoT appliances). We will continue working to popularize ECHONET Lite devices with a set goal of 100 million units by 2020.

2019 Shipment Status

ECHONET Lite is a shared language that makes it possible for IoT home appliances, housing devices, energy creation/accumulation devices offered by different manufacturers to communicate with each other.

In order to control IoT home appliances, housing devices, energy creation/accumulation devices from different manufacturers via the internet, as in smart homes that use Home Energy Management Systems(HEMS), a common interface(the shared launguage) is paramount. It is ECHONET Lite that fulfills this role as a communication protocol.
