Plugfest is a place where products and technologies can be brought together to conduct interconnection tests with the aim of improving the interoperability of ECHONET Lite devices. It is open to ECHONET Consortium members (including academic members).
Since being recommended as a well-known standard protocol in HEMS, the ECHONET Lite standard has continued to be widespread. Ensuring multi-vendor interoperability and compatibility is important in a HEMS environment because controllers, equipment, and technologies from different manufacturers are mixed there. However, in reality, some kinds of interoperability issues are sometimes observed even among AIF certified products from other companies, due to differences in interpretation and implementation errors just by developing based on the standard.
ECHONET Consortium holds Plugfest as a place where ECHONET Consortium members can easily bring devices and technologies, check interconnections, and share implementation information, and support ECHONET Consortium members to develop products and technologies.
