Participation in the 2019 Smart Grid and Smart Community Workshop in Taipei
On October 8, 2019, we presented ECHONET Consortium initiatives and demonstrated ECHONET Lite AIF certification tools and Web API at the 2019 Smart Grid and Smart Community Workshop held at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC).
The 2019 Smart Grid and Smart Community Workshop was held for researchers involved in Taiwan Power (Taipower), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), smart electric meters, and smart grids.
This workshop was organized by the Taiwan Electric Power Enterprise Association (TEPA) and Zhongshan University under the guidance of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Standard Examination Bureau (BMSI).
Dr. Masao Isshiki, professor at the Kanagawa Institute of Technology, and Consortium member companies have been working on launching the workshop since 2018, and had a session related to ECHONET Lite.
Mr. Katsuhiko Hiramatsu, Representative Director of the ECHONET Consortium, gave a presentation on the current activities of the ECHONET Consortium, while Mr. Takashi Murakami, chairman of the Technical Committee, introduced the ECHONET Lite specifications and certification system. Also, Mr. Morio Hirahara, commissioner of the steering committee for the ECHONET Consortium, along with researchers Dr. Kazuo Sekiya and Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology, gave demonstrations related to ECHONET Lite AIF certification tools and Web API. The participants were commended on the penetration and excellent interoperability of ECHONET Lite as well as the penetration of devices installed with ECHONET Lite.
A presentation was also given to introduce a Japanese smart electric meter Route B implementation case by the Wi-SUN Alliance and Dr. Chin Sean Sum’s Wi-SUN. Mr. Murase from TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. then presented a verification test using smart electric meter Route B that took place in Tainan City, Taiwan, while Professor Ishii from Waseda University introduced energy-related initiatives in Japan, OpenADR, and ECHONET Lite standardization and social implementation.
